KU flats in sanitation mess
Srinagar, Mar 25: The residential quarters of Kashmir University(KU) staffers near the J&K Bank branch outside the varsity campus in Hazratbal “are in a mess due to drainage failure,” the inhabitants complained.
The inhabitants of the flats said all the sewage coming of the building, including washroom waste was landing straight into an “uncovered cesspool.”
“Lot of stench emanates from the uncovered mess and there’s every possibility of outbreak of epidemic in the area in the coming days,” the residents said.
Despite repeated attempts, the KU PRO couldn’t be contacted for comments. However an official speaking on the condition of anonymity admitted that the matter has come into the notice of the varsity officials.
