Sagar visits fire victims, distributes relief
Srinagar, Mar 25: The Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Ali Muhammad Sagar Monday visited Tujgari Mohalla Nowhatta where some residential houses were gutted in a fire last week, and distributed relief among the victims.
“Sagar distributed relief of 50 Kgs rice, blankets and edible oil among each family provided by NGO Common Cause Trust,” an official handout said.
The Minister also announced relief package of Rs 20,000 for each family out of his Constituency Development Fund and directed Deputy Commissioner Srinagar to expedite the processing of their cases.
He also “informed that Rs 20,000/- would also be provided by Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation to every employee working with the SMC.”
Sagar also assured the fire sufferers that relief would also be provided out of Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Sager was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah, Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, and other officers.
