DDC reviews arrangements

Srinagar, Apr 30: The District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Er Farooq Ahmad Shah on Monday reviewed the arrangements being made for the Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Dawood (RA), popularly known as Batamaloo Sahib(RA), scheduled to commence from May 4.
MLA Batmaloo, Irfan Ahmad Shah, officers from PDD, PHE, R&B, Health, Police, Traffic, CA&PD, SMC, Fire and Emergency Services besides representatives of Auqaf Jamia Ziyarat Hazrat Sheikh Dawood(RA) were present on the occasion.
The DDC directed the “officers to ensure availability of essentials especially LPG, Ration, Sugar and K-Oil to the people of the area besides providing necessary facilities to the devotees during the Urs days.” He asked PHE department to ensure adequate water supply and the PDD to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the area during the Urs days.
“Shah asked the officers of R&B department to carry out necessary repairs of the roads leading to the shrine besides making Batmaloo bus Adda, dewatering station functional,” an official handout said.
For the convenience of the devotees, the Traffic police has been directed to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the area.
Talking to Greater Kashmir the DDC said measures would be taken to ensure that public transport remains available in the area till late hours.
