CT seizes 9 tons polythene at Lower Munda
Srinagar, Apr 30: Commercial Taxes (CT) wing of the Excise and Taxation department seized nearly nine tons of polythene from a truck at Lower Munda check post in Qazigund area in south Kashmir.
CT officials said they intercepted a truck bearing registration no Jk13a 2081 of New Kashmir road Line transport agency at Lower Munda.
“The documents produced by the driver Javeed Ahmad Dar of Reshipora Awantipora indicated that the vehicle was carrying onions meant to be unloaded at Parimpora. However, the physical verification of the vehicle revealed that it was laden with polythene bags packed in gunny sacks. The vehicle was ceased and upon its physical verification, polythene weighing nine tons was packed into 180 gunny sacks,” they said.
