DDC bans Kabaadi trade of select items
Srinagar, May 17: In a bid to keep check on theft of public property like streetlights and metallic manhole lids, the administration on Friday banned sale of some such items with scrap(Kabaadi) dealers.
”The District Magistrate Srinagar Er Farooq Ahmed Shah has banned the sale of items including iron manhole covers, transformer core, chain link fencing, tree guards and streetlights,” an official spokesman said.
He said the decision was taken following frequent complaints that such items would be stolen from the City areas putting people to inconvenience.
