KU beat Meerut University 1-0

 Srinagar, Dec 1: In the ongoing North Zone Inter-University football tournament, Kashmir University beat Meerut University one goals to nil in the opening match played at Punjabi University grounds Chandigarh on Monday.

The only goal of the match was scored in the 20th minute by Wasiq Wani of KU, after which the Meerut team tried their best to come back into the match in the second half but the KU players ensured maximum possession of the ball.

“The morale of the team is very high and we are looking forward to qualify for the All India Inter-University tournament. After selecting the team by the university, a coaching camp was conducted in the University under the supervision of Dr Basharat Ali in which all the players practiced very hard, with the result we won the match and all the players played very well in good coordination”, said captain Masood Ahmed.
