Burglars have a field day in Soura
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, May 28: With burglars enjoying a field day out in Soura area of east City, the inhabitants said they are feeling unsafe.
The locals alleged that the police has failed to nab the burglars, while the incidents of burglary continue to swell in the area.
“Few days back burglars struck our house and decamped with all the golden and other precious items,” said Illyas Ahmad, a resident of Azad Colony Soura.
Illyas flanked by other residents said that during last two years barring few houses almost all the dwellings have been burgled while nobody has been arrested so far.
“We fear to venture out of our residences and even when we are at work, we are worried about our properties as the incidents of burglary have been frequent in our area,” said Junaid Ahmad, an another resident.
They urged police to expedite the investigations and nab the burglars as soon as possible so that the “fear psychosis among residents is waned.”
When contacted, Police Station Soura officials said FIR has been lodged for the burglary a few days back.
“We are currently working on the case and will nab the culprits,” he said. However, locals appealed the Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Abdul Ghani Mir and SSP, Srinagar, Aashiq Bukhari to look into the matter and get the police deployment in the area strengthened further.
