EDI holds loan mela
Jammu, Sep 6: Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) organized daylong entrepreneurship awareness cum loan fair in Udhampur on Friday.
Nearly 200 participants, including sarpanchs, naib sarpanch, senior citizens and educated unemployed youth, attended the programme.
The event was part of JKEDI’s awareness campaign regarding the term loan scheme the institute implements under the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC).
Joint Director Planning, Udhampur, Rakesh Jamwal, who was the chief guest, addressed the gathering.
Jamwal said entrepreneurship is the only solution to address the problem of unemployment in the state.
“The government doesn’t have resources to provide employment to every educated unemployed youth of the state” he said.
“There are certain sectors that have good scope in the district like agri and its allied segments, tourism, handloom, handicrafts and service sector.”
JKEDI communication officer M.M. Khan gave a presentation highlighting various important aspects of schemes implemented by the institute.
