Arts Emporium employees demand release of pending salaries

A statement issued by the employees union of the emporium said their salaries are pending for the last 7 months.

Demanding release of pending salaries, employees of J&K Government’s Arts Emporium recently held a protest demonstration in the Emporium Garden here. 

A statement issued by the employees union of the emporium said their salaries are pending for the last 7 months. 

“The salaries of the employees are being withheld despite the Managing Director and other Managing Staff are regularly drawing their salaries, TA bills and depositing their CP Fund every month,” the protesting employees said. 

“The poor employees have borrowed lakhs of rupees as bank loans and every month the bank authorities ring them and 'remind them of depositing EMIs which they cannot do due to non disbursement of their salaries,” the employees lamented. 

They said to meet out expenditures on the life saving medicines, school fee and other essential commodities, the employees are “selling their household goods”.  The Employees Union of the Emporium has requested the government and Minister of Industries to personally intervene so  that salaries are released immediately.
