Downtown traders coordination committee call upon Finance Minister

Trade leader Nazir Ahmad Shah who was a part of the meeting said financial constraints of traders due to uncertain situation in Kashmir was discussed with the Finance Minister.

Shahr-e-Khaas Traders Coordination Committee on Monday held a meeting with Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu to discuss various issues related to traders. 

Trade leader Nazir Ahmad Shah who was a part of the meeting said financial constraints of traders due to uncertain situation in Kashmir was discussed with the Finance Minister.

“We told the FM that there should be flexibility towards the Non Performing Accounts ( NPAs) of traders who have suffered financial losses due to the floods and last year unrest,” Shah said.

The minister was also apprised that the interest which traders are expected to pay back on loans must be waived off since most of the traders are not in a position to bear this burden.

 “The FM assured us that all our concerns will be addressed. We are highly thankful to Dr Haseeb Drabu for considering our pleas and hope all our genuine demands  are well accepted,”Shah said.

Among those present in the meeting included traders Nazir Ahmad Shah, Bashir  Ahmad Kenu, Sheikh Bilal, Imtiyaz Chisti and other trade fraternity members.
