The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Nazir Ahmad Khan on Monday filed his nomination papers for Srinagar-Budgam parliamentary seat here.
Khan, a former Congress leader, was accompanied by party leaders including Muzzafar Hussain Baig, Imran Raza Ansari and Khurshid Alam to the District Commissioner’s office for filing the nomination.
Addressing workers’ convention at party headquarters, Khan while lashing out at National Conference, accused the party of being “mother of all the problems faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”
“I am a new comer into the parliament election foray and everyone knows I had won the Beerwah constituency during the 2014 assembly elections. Omar Abdullah’s name was fraudulently announced after all the national media channels had declared me the winner,” Nazir Khan said.
Khan said National Conference was only “surviving because of the support from Congress party and they must admit that they are a handicapped party. Their own leader Omar Abdullah admitted being choked by me during the 2014 assembly elections.”
Khan said National Conference President and party candidate for Srinagar seat Dr Farooq Abdullah was a ‘discredited politician.” “They (NC) are responsible for miseries faced by people,” he added.
Khan alleged that he had won the Beerwah constituency during 2014 Assembly election but “it is now fraudulently represented by Omar Abdullah.”
