To develop “patriotism” in children from a young age, a minister in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Madhya Pradesh has said that “Jai Hind” will soon replace “yes sir” and “yes madam” roll calls in schools in the state.

The state's BJP government led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan says it is meant to develop patriotism in children from a young age. The pilot project, if successful in Satna, will be rolled out across the state, reported NDTV.

It said the information about the plan has been spread through advertisements in local dailies and cellphones.

Kunwar Vijay Shah, education minister of the state, said the plan has been "approved by the Chief Minister.
