Banihal accident: Condolences continue to pour in

Various social, political and religious organizations have expressed grief over the death of pilgrims in yesterday’s accident in Banihal.  

MDF J&K in an extra ordinary meeting today while expressing shock condoled the death of Amarnath yatries.  

The condolence meeting was held under the Chairmanship of its President Syed shabir Ahmed Shah MDFHead Office Jamia Masjid Talab Khatikan, Jammu. Two minutes silence was also observed for peace to the departed souls.

During the meeting, MDF President Syed Shabir Ahmed Shah highly appreciated the role of local Muslim brothers of Nachlana area, (Banihal) who extended full support to the Army in rescue operations thus presented a glaring example of humanism & universal brotherhood.

However he expressed his anguish against the State Transport Department showing negligence in the use of Transport for Amarnath Yatries. He further added that the rejected buses were put into service without taking due care of the human lives.

Jat Kalyan Sabha (J&K) under the Chairmanship of its President Kamal Singh held a condolence meeting in Jammu to mourn  the death of Amarnath Yatris in the tragic road accident.

 On the occasion two minutes silence was observed to pay respect to the departed souls.

Members of the Jat Kalyan Sabha present in the condolence meeting included Paras Ram, Janak Raj, Ch Darshan Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Sat Pal Mattoo, Madan Lal, Pola Ram and others.

Meanwhile Kamal Singh also visited Government Medical College Hospital Jammu to enquire about the health of Amarnath Yatris injured in the tragic bus accident.  He interacted with the doctors treating the injured to know about their condition and line of treatment.  He wished speedy recovery to those injured   and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.

Singh also attended the cremation ceremony of Darshan Singh son of Chhajju Ram of Tehsil Bishnah driver of the bus.

 Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) also held  a condolence meeting and expressed grief over the tragic accident of Amarnath yatries. The meeting was held at Dogra Hall in the DSS complex under the chairmanship of Sabha President Gulchain Singh                              Charak .

In the meeting members expressed  shock and grief over the loss of 17   lives and injuries  to several others and prayed to the Almighty God for resting their souls in peace and grant courage and fortitude to the bereaved families to bear the                                                     loss.

The meeting also expressed concern about the recent happenings in the state and held detailed deliberations. On the outset all members unanimously, in one voice, denounced the inhuman barbaric attack on the Shri Amarnathji pilgrims.
