Former KT journalist dies in tragic incident

In a tragic incident on the day of Diwali, former Kashmir Times (KT) senior correspondent Arun Gupta died after receiving a severe electric shock at his home.

As per family sources, Arun Gupta (45 years), who was had been working as PRO, Jammu Central Cooperative Bank (JCCB), received sever electric shock on the roof top of his home while lighting decoration for Diwali celebrations at his residence in Subhash Nagar, yesterday.

He was immediately rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH), Jammu by the members of family with the help of neighbours. 

However, the doctors pronounced him as brought dead. He was cremated today. Members from media fraternity in large number attended his last rites.    

Before joining Jammu Central Cooperative Bank in 2011, Arun remained associated with the Kashmir Times for over twelve years.

 He was known as thorough professional and a dedicated journalist with balanced outlook. Arun was popular among his journalist colleagues for his jovial, affable persona – a trait which he retained even after shifting to banking profession and thus earning an equal amount of respect and admiration in the new realm.

He is survived by his wife Rita Gupta, mother Kamla Manhas, son Radha Madhav Gupta, two daughters Samanta Gupta and Akshika Gupta and two sisters Rashmi Gupta and Bindiya Gupta.
