Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party(JKNPP) chairman Harsh Dev Singh today accused the Department of Education of ‘indulging in large scale whimsical transfers in circumvention of transfer policy besides complaints of monetary and other extraneous considerations in the process of transfers.’

He said that a high level probe was necessitated in view of widespread allegations of violation of norms. He was addressing a press conference in Jammu today.

Taking to reporters , Harsh Dev Singh alleged that , “Education Deptt. had thrown all norms and procedures to the winds and effected highly irregular transfers which had created all round condemnation in Jammu region”.

While expressed his dismay that the transfer list of Masters revealed large scale ‘zero’ km transfers of Masters in blatant violation of transfer norms which were reported to have been made on monetary considerations which however needed to be investigated.

He said that , “such zero km transfers had fully exposed the hollow claims of the Education Department where transfer mafia still ruled the roost and the  list of transfers of Masters  available with him indicated that the much trumpeted transfer policy had been blown into smithereens by the reckless officers with no regard whatsoever for the prescribed guidelines

Lambasting the much hyped ‘Transfer Melas’ of teachers and masters conducted by Education Deptt in the past in various Districts requiring the latter to furnish their respective choices for postings, Harsh Dev Singh regretted that the said preferences given by the masters in the said ‘Melas’ were thrown into the dustbin and transfer orders were issued on whims and fancies of helmsmen besides upon other extraneous considerations.

Urging upon the Chief Minister to take cognizance of the large scale irregularities in such transfers,  Singh called for a vigilance or SIT probe into the whole gamut of transfers. He also demanded to put all such transfers in abeyance until the final outcome of the  investigation.
