Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Additional General Secretary, Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal  today alleged that main cause for price rise of essential commodities is due to hasty roll out of GST and demonetization .

This he said while addressing party workers and office bearers here at Sher-i- Kashmir Bhawan.

As per press statement , while expressed his anguish at the soaring prices of essential commodities including vegetables and cereals , he said these items are almost out of reach of the common man and coupled with soaring prices of Diesel, Petrol , Kerosene Oil  and LPG has made the situation grim.

He blamed it on hasty roll out of GST and demonetization without due preparation and proper road map instead implementing if secretly at the impulse of one man the Prime Minister Narendra Modi .

Being one among equals in the cabinet he would be well advised to consult the cabinet on all vital / important issues and presently GST and demonetization are major issues which have impacted all aspects of human life in India, he added .

The other issue discussed in the meeting was the road accidents in the state from Leh to kathua with higher incidence on the hilly roads of Chenab valley and the Pir Panjal areas.

Discussing about worrisome situation of traffic Jams on the Jammu – Srinagar highway ,Dr Kamaal said it is a ripe time to divert this traffic especially of Heavy and very heavy motor vehicle via the Kishtwar – Daksam via sintham pass and Baflias Shopian Mughal road before we face crisis like situation .

Both these roads be declared as National Highways, he suggested.
