Kishtwar, Dec 10: Ruling National Conference today charged principal opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, of being unable to “digest humiliating defeat” in the recently held Legislative Council elections.
Suggesting PDP “to take lesson from the recently held elections”, National Conference spokesperson and Member Legislative Assembly Sajad Ahmed Kichloo said that his party was a movement and important part of the state history.
The NC spokesperson said that the elections have not only exposed the claims of the PDP that it has support of majority of the Sarpanchs and Panchs in Jammu and Kashmir but has at the same time set a tone for the upcoming general elections. “People are wise enough to judge between right and wrong”, he said adding, “The thumping success of the NC-Congress candidates is a testimony of the fact that people are no more interested in the hollow slogans and false claims”.
“It was very surprising that PDP leadership was every now and than claiming to have given a political alternative to the people”, he said adding that the party can by no stretch of imagination compare itself with National Conference. “National Conference was not only a party but a movement, while a golden history of sacrifice and struggle”, he said adding that this party and its struggle was an important part of the state history.
