A local court here on Monday vacated the stay on the bail to Muslim League chairman and senior Hurriyat (G) leader Masarat Alam Bhat.
Principal District and Sessions Judge Bandipora disposed of state’s revision petition against bail order dated Feb 22 passed by CJM Bandipora, stating that the “bail order is interlocutory and it cannot be challenged through revision.”
“Thus, the suspension of bail order to Masarat Alam stands vacated and the bail order by CJM stands in a case FIR No.53/2015 U/S 13 UL Act lodged against him in police station Sumbal,” the order reads.
Alam was granted bail by the CJM Bandipora in a case FIR no. 53/2015 under section 13 U.L P/S Sumbal. However, the state government challenged the bail before the Sessions Judge Bandipora who had suspended its execution till February 27. The suspension was extended from time to time till today.
