The armies of India and Pakistan on Sunday exchanged fire for the second consecutive day along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

An official said that Pakistan army fired at Indian army posts in Kamalkote area around 11am.

“The firing started at 11am and is going on intermittently,” he said, adding that the local population has been asked to stay indoors.

There was no immediate report of loss to life or property.

Yesterday, an army porter was killed and two women injured in the exchange of fire.
