Srinagar, Nov 10: The Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Front president and MLA Khan Sahab Hakim Yasin Saturday said providing protection to Kashmiri students and traders outside Jammu Kashmir was the primary duty and responsibility of the Central and State governments.
“It is the primary responsibility of the centre and state governments to provide safety and security to every Kashmiri student and trader in any party of country against the organized and planned conspiracies of mischievous elements,” said Hakim while addressing a public meeting at Hardpanzu in Budgam district of central Kashmir.
“Kashmiri students and traders outside Kashmir deserve the same treatment as do lakhs of people visiting Valley from outside Jammu Kashmir every year from centuries,” said Hakim Yasin.
On LPG issue, Hakim termed as disappointing the central government’s decision on the gas distribution. He demanded that in view of the weather conditions and harsh winters in Valley the government should increase cap on the number of subsidized LPG cylinders besides keeping cooking gas and kerosene available in large quantities. He also demanded that people should also be provided uninterrupted power supply during winters.   He claimed that the four-point formula of the former president of Pakistan Parvaiz Musharraf could pave the way for resolving Kashmir issue. “There is need for starting a serious, result oriented and sustained dialogue process between India and Pakistan to resolve Kashmir issue. Both mainstream as well as separatist leaders should also be roped in,” he said.
