British parliamentarian Bob Blackman who is on 3-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir arrived here on Monday and met various delegations.
Blackman was also accompanied by his aide and Founder of Kashmiri Pandit cultural society London Laxmi Kaul and MLC Surinder Ambardar who had organized the meeting of the visiting parliamentarian with various delegations in Kashmir.
The delegations which met the parliamentarian included Kashmir Chamber of Commerce headed by Mushtaq Wani and discussed the scope of bringing in various investments in different sectors of power, solar and tourism.
A delegation of Kashmiri Pandit Sangrash Samiti led by Its president Sanjay Tickoo informed Blackman that nearly 800 Kashmiri Pandits were killed during the turmoil while as the official figures stated that 250 KPs were killed which is not the right figure.
Some of the other delegations which met with Bob Blackman included the civil society members led by Mohiddin Sofi and Javed Kakroo also focused on the need to have all round development in order to bring complete peace in Kashmir.
A young group of lawyers led by Muzzafar also met the visiting delegation and said that the new generation of Kashmir needs to be provided to optimum opportunity in the field of politics and entrepreneurship.
Kasmiri Pandit employees working in Kashmir also met the MP Blackman and discussed the need to have one small smart city built in Kashmir so that return of Pandits is possible and the lost social and ethnic fabric of Kashmir is revived.
Blackman assured all the visiting delegations that he has taken note of all the relevant points and would raise all the relevant points in different international forums and would also try to focus on bringing in some investment in the state once he meets some seniors members of government of India in New Delhi.
