Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Pune will be conducting foundation-level film courses in Ladakh.

According to a statement, the courses would commence in October in digital cinematography and acting which forms part of a string of courses conducted by FTII across India under its outreach initiative SKIFT (Skilling India in Film and Television).

The programme in the tough mountainous region of Ladakh in the country's Northern most area comes close on the heels of courses recently conducted by FTII in the Eastern most part of the country in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The decision to conduct 3-week foundation courses in digital cinematography and acting was taken at a meeting in Leh between Bhupendra Kainthola, Director FTII Pune, Sonam Dawa, Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), Ladakh Area Hill Development Council (LAHDC) and Prasanna Ramaswamy, Deputy Commissioner, Leh.
