A protest march that started from Bus Stand Kargil and ended at Hussaini Park was held in the town on Thursday in protest against an obscene video that went viral in the area early this month.

The protest was organised by the Zainabia Women Welfare Society and Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust. Students from various schools displayed placards calling for an end to sexual exploitation of women.

“The society, police and administration should respect women and we would not tolerate any kind of exploitation of women in our society,” said Fatima Bano, a protester.

“Such videos are against humanity and promote immorality,” she said.

At Hussaini Park, principal Jamia Fatima Zahra Khatija Salehi condemned the video, which had created outrage in Kargil.

On 5 August, the Society had filed a complaint with the police after the video went viral.

The same day, Kargil senior superintendent of police T Gyalpo had constituted an investigation team headed by deputy superintendent of police Ishtiyaq Ahmed Kacho.
