SKIMS faculty forum has assured support to the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to ensure better patient care in the institute.

The executive secretary of SKIMS faculty forum Prof Sameer Naqash had a meeting with Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in Jammu.

“In a detailed discussion on all aspects of SKIMS functioning, while referring to recent events, she reiterated that the system needs to be cleaned up particularly for the better patient care. The CM expressed her unhappiness over the issue of private practice by some faculty at SKIMS. The executive secretary convinced the CM that SKIMS faculty forum does not support private practice by any faculty members,” Dr Sameer Naqash, executive secretary SKIMS Faculty Forum Soura said in a statement.

“The CM was informed about the efforts being put by our faculty for continuing patient care at SKIMS despite of these unfortunate events that have unfolded in the last week. The faculty at SKIMS is duty bound to carry on patient care work as usual and not let the poor patients suffer who have no access to specialised health care facilities. The executive secretary thanked the CM for showing keen interest into the institution for better patient care despite of her busy schedule and ongoing assembly session. She was kind enough to give the executive secretary her valuable time, and assured her support both to institution as well as faculty for better results in terms of patient care,” the statement said.

Dr Naqash assured full support on behalf of SKIMS faculty to the CM.
