The medical and paramedical staff of sub District Hospital Kangan on Wednesday observed strike thus affecting the normal functioning of the hospital.

The employees at SDH Kangan told Greater Kashmir that the hospital authorities have failed to release their salary since two months due to a tussle between the two superintendents present in the hospital.

"Govt has ordered appointment of new superintendent for the health institution. However, the former superintendent got the order stayed and refused to leave.  The tussle between them has subjected them to inconvenience,” they said.

"The office meant for the superintendent is padlocked and both claimants despite remaining on duty are unable to open the office,” they said.

They have appealed director health services and DC Ganderbal to intervene in the matter.

Meanwhile, the strike has caused inconvenience to the hundreds of outdoor patients present in the hospital and only one doctor is attending emergency patients only.

Latter CMO Ganderbal SDM, BMO and tehsildar Kangan reached the spot and after assuring action pacified the situation.
