‘Active LPG consumers don’t need to file KYC forms’

Srinagar, Nov 9: In a major relief for LPG consumers, oil companies Friday announced that there is no need to file Know Your Consumer (KYC) forms with gas dealers for those consumers who have active connections on official websites of oil companies. However consumers whose connection is blocked or de-active on the websites need to submit their documents for verification.
An official of an oil company said that HP consumers can check their status on the website dcmstransparencyhpcl.co.in. Similarly, IOC consumers can check their status online at indane.co.in while as BP consumers can check the status on ebharatgas.co.in. Explaining the process of checking the status, Sales Area Officer, HPCL, Haroon Ahmad Kar said: “On the respective website, a consumer has to select the gas dealer under whose jurisdiction they fall and give the consumer name or consumer number to check his status.”
Kar said after finding the connection ‘active,’ a consumer can take the printout and present it before the gas dealer for getting refills.
For those consumers whose connection is ‘de-active’ or ‘blocked,’ Kar said they have to file the documents and KYC forms for activating the connection.
Meanwhile, oil companies have passed strict instructions to gas distributors for providing home delivery of cooking gas to all consumers who have the requisite documents.
