Several land mines close to LoC exploded on Saturday due to a fire in Mankote forest area, spreading panic in the area, an official of the local administration said. 

Fire-fighting operation was launched and teams were rushed to the area by the authorities, who managed to douse off the flames to a major extent. 

As per reports, the fire erupted in the area on Friday afternoon and engulfed several acres of forest land, leading to loss of green gold. “The fire damaged a lot of trees and also killed wild animals,” reports revealed.
