Driver booked for attempt to crush cops

District Police here today seized twenty- six auto rikshaws plying in violation of their route permit and also imposed heavy fine on eight vehicles whereas driver of an auto rikshaw has also been booked  for his attempt to crush a naka duty. 

On the directions of SSP Rajouri,  Yougal Manhas and under the supervision of AdSP Rajouri Mohd Yousuf,  a team headed by DySP HQrs Rajouri Jaswant Singh alongwith SHO Rajouri Ajay Chib laid surprise nakas on different routes of town including Rajouri to Salani, Rajouri to Hospital and Rajouri to Khandli. 

As many as sixteen three wheeler auto rikshaws of Rajouri to Khandli, Salani and Hospital route were seized under law as all were found plying on these without  permit.

Police team also seized four wheeler auto rikshaws, total eight in number, for not adhering to movement on routes mentioned in the permit. 

All these vehicles have been seized under relevant sections of law. 

Besides, sixteen vehicles were also challened by police.

Along with this, Rajouri police has also booked driver of an auto rikshaw for attempt to run over the cops during naka checking.  

Auto JK11 2793 driven by a local driver tried to run over DySP HQrs and his PSO when signalled to stop. 

PSO to DySP HQrs also sustained minor injury when he jumped to save his life.  

A case in FIR 419/2017 US 332, 336, 353 RPC has been registered in Police Station Rajouri and vehicle has been seized and manhunt to nab the accused driver is also going on.

Police has also appealed owners of all the auto rikshaws for handing over their vehicles only to trained drivers and to check his past record also to prevent any untoward incident.
