BGSBU to go for ‘cashless transactions’, says V-C

Vice Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Prof Javed Musarrat  on Tueday convened a meeting of all Deans, Heads of Departments, officers of administration and officials of J&K Bank.

“The meeting was called to discuss the steps to be taken for making BGSB University cashless and moving towards digital ways of financial transactions,” a varsity spokesman said in a statement.  

An IT expert from J&K Bank made a power-point presentation on the latest Apps of J&K bank and the new features being introduced in its internet banking. 

Prof Musarrat stressed upon the need of going cashless and asked the bank officials to submit a tailor-made proposal which could cater to all the needs of the University. He said POS machines should be installed in the University for collection of fees. He also sought a link on the university website through which students can deposit their fee online from wherever they desire to. 

“The VC also asked the Deans, Head of Departments and Officers to encourage students and employees to go for cashless transactions and create awareness among the people regarding digital ways to payments,” the spokesman said.
