Keeping its unbeaten streak intact this season, Real Kashmir FC defeated visitors Delhi United FC by 1-0 in the match of second division I-League at Synthetic Turf TRC ground here on Wednesday.

With this much needed win, Real Kashmir stays on toes of group leaders Hindustan FC with mere two points separating them. It was sixth match of the season for Real against an opponent they had never defeated. But going by the recent form it didn’t prove that difficult to register a win against them this time.

Match started with Real Kashmir dominating most of the possession and making moves. Early on Real Kashmir failed to convert couple of decent chances. In-between Delhi also tried to change the momentum of game but failed. In 40th minute of the game, Atinder Mani earned penalty for hosts Real Kashmir and then converted that into goal himself. 

At half time Real Kashmir was leading by 1-0.

In second half, it was Delhi United that looked in command while as Real Kashmir seemed to be content with maintaining lead. 

Real Kashmir strengthened its midfield and also defense this time was compact that never allowed opposite strikers to sneak in. Despite Delhi United dominating second half, defenders of Real Kashmir thwarted all the moves with ease.

The match ended with 1-0 in favor of Real Kashmir and with that Real Kashmir defeated Delhi United first time in second division I-League. Previously they had clashed thrice in which Delhi had emerged winner in two and one had turned draw.

With this win, Real Kashmir remains in contention for the qualification with four matches to be played. Real Kashmir trail table toppers Hindustan FC by two points.

Real Kashmir is yet to suffer defeat this season. They have played six matches in which they have been to able to win three and draw three. They will be next playing against Hindustan FC on April 21.
