Despite playing its best football of the season, Lone Star Kashmir FC went on to suffer another defeat in this season’s Second Division, I-League as they were beaten by visitors Hindustan FC by 2-1 goals at Synthetic Turf TRC Ground here on Tuesday.

Having dominating most part of the game Lone Star suffered complacency in later minutes of second half, allowing 10 men Hindustan FC to bounce back. Visitors, who trailed for most of the game and were playing with one man short, scored two goals in later minutes of second half to emerge winner by 2-1 goals.

Hosts Lone Star who are yet to win single match this season, went into middle against table topers Hindustan FC to make a statement and give their campaign some respect in front of home fans. They started brilliantly dominating the game, making serious moves. The intent was clear they wanted to score rather than be content with a draw against side like Hindustan FC. In 16th minute of game, Aakif got ball in penalty area and he with ease converted that into goal. Hindustan FC tried to bounce back and in hurry one of their player committed foul and was sent off. That reduced visitors to 10 men on the field and looked in serious danger of suffering their first defeat of season against a side who had not won a single match. At half time Lone Star were leading by 1-0 goals.

In second half, Lone Star again dominated but little complacency changed  whole game as visitors went on to score two back to back goals. Thomyo L Shimray leveled the score in 71st minute. It was opening that Hindustan FC were looking for and they went on to make it 2-1 in 79th minute. Kushant Chauhan was the scorer for them. Lone Star tried its best to score equalizer but failed. Hindustan FC won match by 2-1 goals and went to keep their unbeaten record in the league intact this season.

It was fifth defeat of the season for the Lone Star in the league out of six matches. In contrary Hindustan FC have won four matches out of six played this season and drew two. Lone Star will play its next clash of the league against Delhi United on April 22.
