The CRPF sponsored under-19 football tournament concluded here Thursday.The final was played today between Sober Club and Young Iqbal. Sober Club lifted the trophy in a nail biting finish defeating Young Iqbal  3-2. The tournament commenced on December 2,  2017. Twelve teams participated in the competition.

Under- 19 girls football final was also played earlier in the day between Saint Joseph school and Girls Government Higher Secondary Baramulla which was won by Girls GHSS Baramulla.

The final was attended by DC Baramulla, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Naqash, DIG NKR Vidhi Kumar Birdi and other senior officers of police, army and district administration.

Speaking on the occasion P.S Rajora, DIGP, CRPF said “It is important to channelize the energy of the youth.  Sports is an excellent medium to promote the latent talents in the valley”

Prize distribution was held in DPL with winning team and runners-up team bagging cash prize along with medals and certificates while girls team also got the reward.

All the participating players were awarded football kit and certificates. The winning teams of both the groups will be offered the opportunity to travel outside for further refinement of skills under National Bharat Darshan Programme.
