Hosts Haryana have extended their lead to 169 for the loss of nine wickets in second inning on the third day of Ranji trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir being played  at Chaudhry Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium, Lahli.

Haryana ended third days play on 161 for the loss of nine wickets with total lead of 169 runs against J&K in second inning. In the match where the pendulum has kept shifting from end to another, the last day is likely to turn out to be thriller with both teams having an excellent chance of an outright win.

Earlier, third day’s play started with J&K resuming its inning from 175 for the loss of seven wickets. They lost remaining three wickets for mere one run as they were bundled out for 176 runs. J&K conceded first inning lead of eight runs.

J&K inning had suffered similar fate on second day as well. Despite a brilliant start given by Ahmad Banday who scored fluent 67 run , J&K collapsed to 175 for seven and then all out on 176 runs. They had a perfect chance to push for first inning lead on a tricky surface that has favored pacers. Instead they conceded the first inning lead.

After the dismal batting show early in the morning, bowlers again lifted the spirits of J&K cricket team. Ram Dayal, who picked five wickets haul in first inning, again shined with the ball and took another five wicket haul. Muhammad Mudasir took two wickets while as Amir Aziz took one. For Haryana Rajat Paliwal top scored with 45 while as GA Singh scored 33.

Haryana have got lead of 169 runs with only one wicket in hand. Even that score will be tough to chase on the surface that in three innings has produced scores of 184, 176 and 169 for nine wickets. It would be a litmus test for J&K team unless someone plays sheet anchor’s role and takes J&K across the line. Haryana are looking favorites to win this tie.
