Continuing his form in the on-going Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, all-rounder Parvez Rasool bagged three wickets with the miserly economical spell against Legends of Rupganj at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothisthan Ground-3, Savar, Bangladesh on Thursday.

It was another dominating win for the Gazi Group and another stunning bowling performance by its star overseas player Parvez Rasool. The Kashmiri cricketer picked up three wickets in his 10-over quota giving away only 17 runs. He helped Gazi Group to win the match by eight wickets after bundling out opposition for 156 runs in 44 overs.

In reply, Gazi Group achieved the required target for the loss of only two wickets in 36 overs. Jahurul Islam top scored for them with unbeaten 62 while as Mominul Haque scored 44. Unlike last match in which Parvez was given man of the match this time, Abu Haydar for picking four wickets and  was adjudged as player of the match.

Parvez again bowled within his limits and kept it simple. His first victim was  Bangla Desh’s test skipper, Mushfiqur Rahim. Parvez bowled him on the score 26 and then picked Ashar Zadi LBW on 8. His third scalp was Yasir Ali.

In the three matches played so far in the league, Parvez who is overseas signing for Gazi Group has picked seven wickets. He has batted only in once and in that scored unbeaten 53. Gazi group is on top of the points table with three wins out of three in the league.

“I am trying my best to play as a professional cricketer and contribute in best way that I can for my team. I am in good rhythm and that results are in front of everyone,” Parvez said.

“The team is dominating so much that I have not got enough opportunities in batting. That is good thing and I am keeping myself ready for whenever I get chance to play my part with both bat and bowl,” he said.

Despite picking three wickets and being economical, Parvez was happier on picking the prize scalp of Mushfiqur Rahim.

“Mushfiqur Rahim is top cricketer and Bangladesh skipper in Test format. He is one of the main reasons behind Bangladesh’s success at International level. It was first time I was bowling to him and to break through his defenses is big achievement for me,” he added.
