3 held with demonetized currency at Nigeen

Police today arrested three persons with demonetized currency at Nigeen area here. 

“Police Station Nigeen during a surprise naka checking at Ashai-bagh in Srinagar apprehended three persons namely Bashir Ahmad Khan of Batamaloo, Showket Ahmad Bhat of Pampore and Bashir Ahmad Bhat of Panthachowk. Demonitised currency of Rs. 1363500   was recovered from their possession,” police spokesperson said in a statement. 

“Accordingly cognizance was taken under THE SPECIFIED BANK NOTES (CESSATION OF LIABILITIES) ACT,  2017 and further investigation was taken up,” the statement added.
