ADGP CID inaugurates SMS facility for passport, service verifications

The applicants remained unaware about the status of their clearances of applications.

ADGP CID, J&K, A.G. Mir, today inaugurated SMS facility for the applicants of passport, service and allied verifications at CID, headquarters, here.  

‘Software application package VMIS (Verification Management and Information System) hosted in CID headquarters Server has been developed by the NIC and is supporting its updating since  2007 for the convenience of general public who applied for passport, service and Allied verification.

The applicants remained unaware about the status of their clearances of applications. To facilitate the SMS facility, CID Headquarters J&K with the help of NIC have upgraded the software application verification Management and Information System to send the SMS to all the applicants to inform them about the status of their verification. The sender ID “CIDJNK” has been approved by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI),” police spokesperson said in a statement.

The organization has thanked state Informatics Officer, NIC Srinagar J&K and Parvinder Singh scientist-B (Addl. district information officer, NIC, Poonch) who coordinated with IT Branch of CID Hqrs, for their tireless services and support in developing the application software.
