SKIMS conference on biomedical innovation concludes

Three day international conference Biochemical innovations: translating cellular cues to novel therapeutics," organised by the Department of Clinical Biochemistry SKIMS concluded today. 

The conference was inaugurated on 20 April by Minister for Science and Technology Sajad Gani Lone concluded on 22 April. The organizers said 300 participants from across the globe like Germany, USA, Netherlands and top research institutes of India like NCBS, IISc Bangalore, DRDO, AMU and IITs attended the event.

“Among the top most scientists who enthralled the scientific audience were  Dr Venkatesh Thuppil who is popularly known as "The lead-man of India, Prof  Gaiti Hassan , Prof Dipanker Nandi Prof Javed Agarwala and Prof Sudhir Krishna." The valedictory function was presided over by Prof Abbas Ali Mahdi, vice chancellor New Era Medical University Lucknow. 

Appreciating the role of organizers, Dr Abbas Ali Mahdi, congratulated Prof Syed Mudassar and her team for hosting such a mega event in a meticulous way. In addition to awarding momentos and certificates to the organising team, the prestigious academy awards Indian Academy of Biomedical sciences were given away to the winners of the oral and poster presentation. L M Shrivastav and K K Shrvastav awards were given for best poster presentation and Noorul Islam award was given for best oral presentation.

Dr Syed Mudassar, professor and HOD Clinical Biochemistry SKIMS and the organising secretary of the event while expressing her satisfaction and happiness, impressed on the role of this scientific gathering in igniting the minds of young researchers and medicos who got an opportunity to get exposed to these stalwarts in the field who otherwise  are far from their reach. She reiterated that such international meets can go a long way in meeting day to day challenges in medical sciences and provide a roadmap for these young scientists to excel in their fields in the state and across the  world. Dr Aaliya Shah the co organising Secretary of the IABS 2018 presented the vote of thanks.
