In memory of Shaheed-e-Millat, Mirwaiz Moulana Muhammad Farooq, Shaheed-e-Hurriyat Khawja Abdul Gani Lone and martyrs of Hawal massacre, Awami Action Committee (AAC) on Friday organised a blood donation camp during which free medicines were distributed among the patients.

In a statement, AAC spokesperson said a large number of youth and women from various districts donated blood in the camp held in premises of Jamia Masjid. “

“AAC and APHC chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq couldn’t not participate in the camp as authorities had placed him under house detention early in the morning at his residence. However, he praised and lauded the emotions and aspirations of people, who came in large numbers to donate their blood,” statement said.

“Members of all the constituents of APHC including AAC leaders, workers and activists, participated in the camp and donated their blood. A free medical camp was also organised on the occasion in which prominent doctors and paramedics participated. Doctors from Unani branch of medicine from Al-Haya Hospital also participated in the camp,” it said.

The statement said hundreds of patients suffering from various ailments were treated on the occasion and also free medicines were provided to them. Meanwhile, AAC spokesman said a workers rally will be organised at the AAC headquarters Mirwaiz Manzil Rajouri Kadal in which AAC delegates from across Kashmir will participate.
