Drug peddler, LPG black marketer held: Police

Srinagar, Nov 9: Police on Friday claimed to have arrested a notorious drug peddler and a shopkeeper resorting to black-marketing of LPG.
 Confirming the arrests, SP north City Tahir Saleem Khan said: “On a specific information Police Post Noor Bagh caught red handed a notorious drug peddler at Rakh Colony Noor Bagh  and recovered 864 tablets of controlled drug Spasmo-Proxyvon  from his possession.”
 “The accused was carrying this large consignment of controlled drug in his Santro without any justification.  Spasmo-Proxyvon is being abused by drug addicts and is a cause of many social evils in the Safa Kadal area,” the SP said.
 An FIR Vide No 124/2012 Under Section  21 NDPS Act  has been is registered against the accused at Police Station Safa Kadal.
 Meanwhile police claimed to have arrested the crockery dealer selling illegal domestic gas cylinders at exorbitant rates.  “The accused was arrested from his crockery shop at Nawab Bazar with 2 filled illegal cylinders of LPG and 6 empty illegal cylinders of 16 Kg each,” the SP said.
 A case vide FIR No 61/2012 under section  3/7 EC Act has been registered at Police Station Maharaj Gunj.
