Hit by boulders, two engineers die at Kishtwar construction site

Reports said a manhunt was launched after the duo didn’t return to work after the lunch break on Friday afternoon.

Two engineers died after they were hit by boulders at an under-construction site of a mega hydroelectric project in Elhaka village of Kishtwar district, officials said on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Gurmeet Singh of Jammu and Vijay Kumar of Udhampur.

Reports said a manhunt was launched after the duo didn’t return to work after the lunch break on Friday afternoon.

“At 8pm they were traced under the debris of mud and boulders near the construction site," said Shakti Pathak, SSP Kishtwar.
