Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University’s School of Management Studies located in Rajouri district of the Pirpanjal region of Jammu and Kashmir in a Facebook funded project in coordination with the Edventure Partners (US) has started working on a project P2P (peer to peer) for creating opportunities for others in spite of challenges and uncertainties. 

“The project named as peace progress prosperity is an academic campaign under the Facebook’s digital global initiative P2P (peer to peer) challenge.  Under this campaign students from various universities across the globe work in coordination with the Edventure Partners on various aspects regarding global concerns,” said the coordinator of the project and Assistant Professor at the varsity’s School of Management Studies, Danish Iqbal. 

Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri is among the 175 global universities globally participating in the program.  The campaign aspires to cover students within the campus and across the sister universities in Jammu and Kashmir.  “Besides students, business leaders, budding entrepreneurs and other organizations and individuals who have been at the forefront of global peace and harmony and have been creating opportunities for others in spite of challenges and uncertainties. The whole idea of the program is to reaffirm our faith on the idea of co-existence and mutual respect,” Iqbal said.

The project was officially kicked off recently by Prof Javaid Mussarat Vice Chancellor Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University in the campus. Speaking on the occasion Mussarat highlighted the importance of peace, progress and prosperity of the mankind. He conveyed the message of global citizenship among the students and highlighted the role to be played by every individual in flourishing global peace and harmony. Also speaking on the occasion Dean School Of Management Studies, Prof. Naseem Ahmed reiterated his vision of transforming Business School into a center of Excellence based on global ethos and values to promote the message of Peace, Progress, and Prosperity.

A team of sixteen students of the School of Management studies under the guidance of Danish Iqbal, coordinator of the program in association with Natasha Yaqob of Edventure Partners USA have been working on the project.  Apart from building an Online Community # peace progress & prosperity on Facebook and other social Media Platforms. An extensive interaction programme has been carried out within the state of Jammu and Kashmir to understand the Importance of peace for Socio- Econmic Development.  Moreover, success stories of business leaders from the valley were studied to gain an insight that how these business leaders have been managing to outperform uncertainties in a highly fragile environment and emerged as an icon of hope and prosperity.  

To gain an insight of importance of peace for the progress and prosperityof the state a Group of 8 students namely Syed IrfanMasoodi, Asif Assadullah Rather, Raashidah Gani, Uzma Fayaz, Mariya Khan, Mohhamed Sami, Tabish Jeenali and Sahil Nazir under the supervision of Iqbal interacted with various academic and economic sections of the society.
