Academy holds seminar on Hakeem Manzoor’s life

Srinagar, Jan 10: The Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Wednesday organized one-day seminar on life and works of noted poet, administrator and journalist, Hakeem Manzoor.
 Speaking on the occasion Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, the additional secretary of the Academy, termed the demise of Manzoor an irreparable loss to Kashmir language and literature.
 He added that Manzoor was concerned about the Kashmir nation. “The academy would soon bring out a special issue of its journal Sheeraz highlighting the contribution of Manzoor to the Kashmiri and Urdu languages,” the statement said.
 Others who spoke on the occasion include social activist Zarief Ahmad Zarief, Ghulam Rasool Azad, Rafeeq Raaz, and Bashir Chirag.
