Various delegations and  dignitaries called on Governor Satya Pal Malik at Raj Bhavan here on Friday, an official spokesman said.  

PRIYA SETHI 

Former Minister  Priya Sethi  apprised Governor about a range of issues relating to the development of the state in the arena of tourism, culture, education and proactive role required to be played by the Government for ensuring women empowerment.

Governor appreciated the zeal and devotion of Sethi for ensuring public welfare and urged to continue her sustained endeavours in this regard.

MLA HAZRATBAL 

Asiea Naqash, MLA Hazratbal briefed Governor about the ongoing schemes in her constituency and projected certain demands for its balanced development.

 Governor urged Naqash to continue her efforts for promoting a peaceful environment in her area and work zealously for advancing the interests of youth by providing them adequate opportunities in the arenas of sports and extracurricular activities.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER SMVDSB

Simrandeep Singh, CEO, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB)  informed Governor Malik about the to-date progress of the Board’s various flagship projects in Katra and the shrine area.

The Governor advised CEO to ensure time-bound completion of all works and ensure satisfactory facilities for all pilgrims.

PROF JAVED MUSARRAT

Prof Javed Musarrat Vice- Chancellor Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU)  apprised Governor about BGSBU’s ongoing academic programmes, available infrastructure, faculty position and the financial requirements to meet the future growth of the University.

PROF MUSHTAQ A SIDDIQI

Prof Mushtaq A. Siddiqi, Vice-Chancellor Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora informed the Governor about the ongoing academic programmes and initiatives taken to enhance the institution’s standing.

DELEGATIONS MEET GOVERNOR

Various delegations including apprentices of accounts clerk course, Finance department, all Jammu and Kashmir unemployed tourism professionals association/tourism trainees,  united national contractors association called on Governor Malik and put forth their demands.   

Delegation from Keran distt Kupwara and Dogra Sadar Sabha also called on the Governor and apprised him about the issues being faced by them. The Governor assured the delegations that their demands would be looked into.
