Awareness program on Dal conservation held

A Chennai based NGO on Friday organized an awareness program for Dal conservation at Girls Higher Secondary School Sonwar.  
 
A Srinagar based social group Arastha has invited the Environmentalist Foundation of India (EFI) to join them for a long term community based conservation of the Dal Lake. The multi-phased community based Dal restoration effort started with the first phase of Environmental education programs at five schools in Srinagar on Friday where environment experts and green activists urged upon the students to protect and conserve Dal lake,” the organizers said in a statement. 
 
The statement said Dr Shah Faesal, Director School Education Kashmir also participated in the inaugural programme at Girls Higher Secondary School Sonwar. The students who participated in these orientation programmes expressed willingness to participate in social, community based as well as scientific revival of the Dal lake.
