Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) today lauded the army chiefs of India and Pakistan for “advocating peace and resolution of Kashmir dispute.”

“The two army chiefs are on the same page vis-à-vis importance of peace in the region and resolution of Kashmir issue. Now it is the turn of the political leadership of the two countries to come across the table and exhibit maturity,” the DFP secretary general Moulana Muhammad Abdullah Tari, in a statement today, said.

Moulana Tari said, “Time has come for the final settlement of Kashmir dispute as it has badly hit the economies of India and Pakistan resulting in countless issues in both the countries. At the time when both the armies are advocating peace their respective political leaderships should also follow and accept the facts about a political dispute which is endangering stability of the whole region.”

Meanwhile, the spokesman of DFP has expressed solidarity and sympathy with the parents of Muhammad Amir Lone of Chatturgul, Kangan, who succumbed to his injuries after he had been hit by government forces’ bullets.

Paying rich tributes to the slain Amir, the spokesman, in a statement today, said, “His killing was a cold blooded by the men in uniform. We will safeguard his sacrifice at all costs.”
