The Mirwaiz south Kashmir Qazi Ahmed Yasir on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of house damaged in recent encounter at Redwani here in south Kashmir.

Qazi Yasir, who is also the chairman of Ummat-i-Islami, had earlier promised on the occasion of Eid-ul- Fitr that Khyri Aam Trust would pay for the reconstruction of the damaged house.

"Our first duty as humans is to help the victims, the sufferers, the survivors. We as a society should work for their upliftment wherever needed. We as a society have set a high moral conduct, a lengthy list of Dos and Don’ts, but when it comes to helping the members of the same society we take aback. It's our foremost duty to remember those who have suffered in general and those who have rendered sacrifices for the betterment of our future.

He said it's the time for all especially the youth to come forward and start Local committees in their localities to help at the time of calamities especially. "We will help you in case of hurdles, take a step, make the committees to help the society" Mirwaiz Yasir said.

He also condemned the frequent frisks, crackdowns, searches in the Redwani and Khudwani areas. He said the youth of the area are being continuously harassed.
