The Jammu and Kashmir government here on Thursday has granted final opportunity under special ‘Amnesty Scheme’ for the settlement of unresolved issues in the old tax regime (VAT) for the smooth implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the state.

Under the last extension issued by the government vide Order No. 485-FD dated 14th of November, 2018, the last date for submission of first installment is December 14, 2018.

Government order number 485-FD of 2018 dated November 14, 2018 reads, “It is hereby ordered that the due date of depositing first installment as per the provisions of the scheme prescribed vide government order number 39-FD of 2018 dated February 5, 2018 is extended up to December 14, 2018 or till any decision in the matter is taken by the government, whichever is earlier.”

“The terms and conditions as prescribed in the government order number 39-FD of 2018 dated February 5, 2018, shall however remain same for depositing of remaining installments,” it reads further.

Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry in a statement on Thursday asked the dealers who have unresolved issues of VAT to ensure that this opportunity is availed by them without fail.
