Udhampur: The Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, O P Kalandria Friday flagged off a batch of four Haj pilgrims from Udhampur to Srinagar.Liaison Officer,  Ali Muhammad and medical team is also accompanying them.

DAK condoles demise
Srinagar: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Friday condoled the sad demise of Saeeba Rashid, daughter of its member Dr Ghulam Rasool Reshi, B-Grade Orthopedic surgeon.
 Saeeba Rashid was doing MBBS at Dakka Medical College and died on November 8, at All India Medical Institute. DAK has expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for the peace to departed soul.

1 killed, 1 hurt in road accidents
Srinagar: A resident of Bihar was killed while another person was injured in two different road accidents in Srinagar.
 A Truck bearing registration No. JKD/9751 hit Zia-ul-Haq, resident of Bihar, at Nowgam Bye-Pass causing his onspot death. Police has registered a case in this regard.
 An unidentified CRPF Gypsy hit and injured Noor-ul-Amin, son of Noor Muhammad Khan, resident of Tulail Gurez on Boulevard road who was taken to hospital. Police has registered a case in this regard.
 
Woman commits suicide
Srinagar: Dilshada wife of Muhammad Ayoub Para, resident of Baiva Kunzar Varmu;, consumed some poisonous substance at her home. She was immediately rushed to SMHS hospital Srinagar where she expired. Police has taken cognizance and is investigating into the matter.

Sheds gutted in Khumriyal
Srinagar: Fire broke out at Khumriyal, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kupwara in which some wooden sheds were gutted. Cause of fire is being ascertained.
   
Soz releases Rs 5 lakh for hand pumps in Rakhi Shilwat
Srinagar: Union Minister for Water Resources Professor Saif-ud-Din Soz has announced release of Rs five lakh out of his MPLADS for construction of link roads and installation of hand pumps at Rakh Shilwat, Sonawari.
 Addressing a public meeting at Rakhi Shilwat Friday, the Union Minister also announced release of required funds for construction of two ghats at Chakki Ganastan and three ghats at Anghaloo Rakhi Shilwat. He directed the PHE department to provide drinking water to the residents of Anghalar Rakhi Shilwat through water tankers to tide over water problem in the area.

Jamaat delegation visits Frisal
Srinagar: A delegation of Jamaat-e-Islam Jammu and Kashmir led by its Amir Sheikh Muhammad Hassan visited on Friday Frisal and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families whose near and dear ones were killed in a tragic accident on November 6.
 The delegation prayed for the peace to departed souls.
