Srinagar, Oct 9: The Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Employees Union (JKEEU) continued its strike for the 9th consecutive day on Tuesday.
The Union extended the strike for two more days, saying if the Government does not pay heed to employees' demands they would intensify the strike. Almost 50,000 electrical employees are on strike across the State. On Tuesday the Union held a central executive meeting to further draft the strategy for the strike. "Until the trust deficit ends between the department and the employees, there is no chance of abandoning the strike. We are fighting for genuine demands and we don't want to continue with the strike. We are concerned to provide better service to people," President JKEEU Abdul Salam Rajpori told Greater Kashmir.
