2 KU faculty members invited as visiting fellows by universities in France, Australia

Two faculty members of University of Kashmir’s Centre of Central Asian Studies (CCAS) have been invited as visiting academics by two universities in Europe and Australia.

Mumtaz Ahmad Yatoo, an assistant professor at CCAS has beeninvited by the School of Philosophical and Historical Inquiry (SOPHI), withinthe Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Sydney, Australia fromMay 19 to June 18.

   

During the affiliation, Yatoo will present lectures, engagewith students and discuss current research, develop new research proposals andpublications with Alison Betts current research collaborator in the School ofPhilosophical and Historical Inquiry (SOPHI) within the faculty of arts andsocial sciences.

Another faculty member Muhammad Ajmal Shah an assistantprofessor cum curator at CCAS has been invited by EPHE, PSL ResearchUniversity, Paris, France as visiting fellow. Shah will deliver lectures onHimalayan Culture and Archaeology with special reference to Kashmir and SilkRoute studies. Shah will also discuss the current status of archaeologicalresearch in Himalayan region and its implications on Central Asian Culturalresearch and archaeology.
